About Trikes of Oxford
Larry Shepherd, owner of Trikes of Oxford, converts Harley-Davidson and Honda motorcycles into trikes. "Most of my clients come to me because they love to ride but would prefer not to have to handle heavy bikes," says Shepherd. Trikes make riding easier. Riders don't have to put their feet down when stopping, there is less fatigue in stop and go traffic and trikes are easier to balance, especially on dirt and gravel roads.
Harley-Davidson recently introduced a factory model trike to meet growing demand. "They are taking Harley trike orders for 2010 delivery," Shepherd says. "The good news is I can convert any Harley-Davidson or Honda motorcycle in about 8 weeks so riders don't have to wait."
Shepherd installs all conversions personally and is fastidious about proper installation. "Proper installation not only looks great, it provides a better ride and longer lasting tires and brakes," says Shepherd. After much research, Shepherd settled on Champion conversion kits for his clients and opened shop in 2004. "I can handle about 40 conversions a year," Shepherd says, "Now is a great time for people to schedule their conversion because the Midwest riding season is coming to an end."
Trikes of Oxford customize every conversion based on the individual needs of each customer. "In addition to the conversion kit, we have one particular fun and difficult to find add-on most riders find too appealing to resist," says Shepherd.
